Rusty!

Today was my first 5 mile training walk of the new year and boy am I rusty!!! It was also the first time this season I've used the fanny pack. Last year walking 5 miles with a fanny pack was a piece of cake. Today I could barely function for the 1st mile. The straps of the pack kept hitting my arm and it was the only thing I could concentrate on. Not to mention I was having trouble taking my water bottles out of the pack and putting them back in (you wear the pack in the back, so you do these things by touch not sight). About 3 miles in I realized the strap wasn't bothering me anymore and I was getting better about the water bottle placement. Guess Walking is as easy as riding a bike! Of course I'm feeling a little sore right now, so tomorrow when I wake up with aches and pains it'll be another story!

Pray for a Quick Recovery

Beth is the very dear cousin of my good friend Kat. I had the pleasure of getting to know Beth and her 3 girls a few years ago when we were all part of Kat's wedding. Beth was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer and is having surgery tomorrow. Please keep Beth in your thoughts and send good wishes her way. If you pray, please keep Beth and her family in your prayers. I wish her a speedy and full recovery.

Mark Rules!

I'm blessed to have many wonderful friends! One of these folks, Mark, was kind enough to help me work on some 3 Day artwork I had dreamed up. The only problem with the dream? I can't draw and my computer experience is with Excel spreadsheets not Photoshop! Luckily Mark is the exact opposite ~ and a professional artist to boot! He came up with some great artwork for me. I love it!!! And an extra-special THANK-YOU to Mark because the type of drawing I was looking for was not in his specialty of Caricature design, but he was still able to come through for me like a champ! As I said, Mark's expertise is Caricatures, so be sure to check out his blog to see his recent work. If your looking for a unique gift or to hire an artist to add some flare to your special occasion, his Cariactures really are amazing and truly capture the essence of the person!

I'm Baaaacckk!!!

That's right folks, I'm back for a 2nd helping of the Breast Cancer 3Day Walk!!! The 60 mile journey last year was amazing, and I'm looking forward to walking this year as a seasoned pro. At least I know what to expect when it comes to putting up a tent and camping, and it really is as easy as everyone assured me! After meeting such amazing people walking, crewing, and supporting the 3Day last year, I couldn't walk away......so I'm walking forward....another 60 miles at a time! So, it's time to start training again. And fundraising. And buying lots of moleskin and vaseline for my feet to ward off blisters! As always, THANK YOU for your support!!! Hope you enjoy following my journey here on the blog!

Love,
Aimee
